Privacy notice

This notice describes what Builders2U collects when you ask us to arrange a contractor consultation, and what we do with it. It is under review by counsel and will be updated.

What we collect

When you submit the quote form, we collect what you type into it:

  • your name;
  • your phone number and email address, so a contractor can reach you;
  • the property address or postal code, so we know who is licensed to serve it;
  • what you tell us about the project, including your timeframe.

We also record the fact of your permission to be contacted: which channels you agreed to, the wording that was on screen when you agreed, the page you agreed on, the time, and the network address and browser identifier your request arrived with. That last part is evidence, not tracking — it is what lets both of us establish later that a call or text was asked for.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, your date of birth, your bank or card details, or any payment credential. Builders2U does not collect, hold, or disburse funds for your project, so we have no reason to hold a payment method. If a page claiming to be ours asks you for one, it is not ours.

Who we share it with

We share your submission with the licensed contractor we match you to, so they can contact you and prepare for the visit. That contractor is an independent business and handles your information under its own practices, not ours.

We also use service providers to run the platform — hosting, email delivery, telephony and messaging, and error monitoring — and they process this information only to provide those services to us. We do not sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep your record for as long as we need it to arrange and support the consultation, to keep the consent record available if a contact is ever questioned, and to meet our own record-keeping obligations. Consent records outlive the lead itself for that reason: the evidence is only useful while the claim it answers is still possible.

Stopping contact, and deletion

You can withdraw permission to be contacted at any time. Reply STOP to a text, say so on a call, or ask us in writing. Withdrawal takes effect for future contact; it does not erase the record that permission was given, because deleting that record would destroy the evidence protecting both sides.

You can also ask us to delete your information. When we act on an erasure request we suppress the record from all further contact and remove your details, keeping only what we must to honour the suppression itself and to show that we did.

To make either request, ask us using the contact route published on this site. If you have already spoken to a contractor, ask them separately as well — their copy is theirs.

Children

This service is for property owners and decision-makers. It is not directed to children.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change. See also our terms and how it works.
