Builders2U

The arrangement, in plain words

How it works

What we do

Builders2U is a lead generation and appointment setting service. We collect what you tell us about your project, check which licensed contractors in our network are licensed for that trade in your state and serve your area, and arrange a consultation at the property.

We are not a licensed contractor. We do not perform construction work, we do not price your project, and we do not quote on a contractor's behalf.

What we check first

Before a contractor is eligible for work through us, we confirm their trade license is active with the state board, hold a current certificate of general liability insurance and their bond information, and run a background check. All of it is collected under an agreement the contractor signs before they are sent to a single job, and we re-confirm the license and the insurance once every calendar year afterwards.

Checking those things is not a warranty of workmanship. The contractor is responsible for the work, the warranty, and the permits, as set out below.

What the contractor does

The contractor visits the property, measures and scopes the work, and gives you their price. If you decide to go ahead, your agreement is with that contractor. They are the contracting party and the contractor of record for the work, and they are responsible for the work, the warranty, and the permits.

Money

You pay the contractor directly, under the terms of your agreement with them. Builders2U does not collect, hold, escrow, or disburse funds for your project, and is not a party to your construction agreement. If anyone claiming to represent Builders2U asks you to send construction funds to us, do not send them.

Our service is free to you. Contractors pay Builders2U for the introduction and the appointment under a separate agreement with us.

What happens to your details

We share what you submit with the licensed contractor we match you to, so they can prepare for the visit. We record when and where you gave permission to be contacted, and by which channels, so that both you and we have a record of it.

Ticking the consent box on the form means you agree that we and the matched contractor may contact you about your request at the phone number and email address you gave us, including by automated call or text. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, message rates may apply, and you can ask us to stop at any time. The exact wording you agree to is shown on the form itself, above the button.

See our privacy notice for what we keep, how long, and how to ask for your information to be deleted.

What we do not promise

We do not promise a price, a timeline, a number of quotes, or that a contractor will be available for every address. Coverage depends on which contractors hold a current license in your state and serve your postal code. If nobody does, we will tell you.
